Broccoli
French - Broccoli is not a vegetable you can include easily into your meal as often people doesn't like it very much. However, broccoli is a very healthy vegetable, very low in calories (only 34 calories per 100 grams) and it is rich in dietary fiber, minerals, iron, vitamins, and anti-oxidants that have proven health benefits.
So here are 4 ways to transform healthy broccoli into family pleasing goodness:
- Raw: The best way to keep all the nutriments and vitamins. Spice with coriander, cumin seeds and garlic like this, it makes the perfect raw broccoli salad.
- Roasted: With garlic and olive oil, then tossed with lemon juice and shaved parmesan cheese, I think this is the best way to eat broccoli.
- Steamed: The second healthiest, easiest and fastest way to eat broccoli. Make it fun by adding some toasted almonds and sesame seeds.
- Soup: Along with potatoes, this soup is perfect as a starter or as a main dish to warm up your winter evenings.
Crispy but tender broccolis are my favorite, I like to steam them and add roasted hazelnuts, lemon zest (it makes all the difference), olive oil, salt and pepper and it becomes the perfect side dish to any meal.
