HolyBelly. Paris

French - Today it is a blue sky fresh air sunny kind of Monday and I would like to share with you where I had brunch this weekend: Holybelly, a coffee shop close to the canal Saint Martin in the 10th area.

Once again, this idea came from abroad and this time it is from Melbourne, brought back by 3 Frenchies. A little coffee where you can hang-out, chill, work (free wifi access) and eat all together with a roommate kind of feeling. From 9am you start with a latte (from La Brûlerie Belleville) in a big comfy sofa, then you can have breakfast until 11:30am where porridge, french tartines, granola, compote and pancakes-chantilly-pear-toated-hazelnut-and-maple-sirup (which are IN-CRE-DI-BLE) are available. Then around midday, everyone has lunch around a big wooden table, where fresh products and ingredients are served: market soup, salad of the day but also macaronis and cheese, soya marinated chicken, scramble eggs, mushrooms and black sausage or on weekends for the brunch: pancakes-eggs-bacon-and-bourbon-butter (FAN-TAS-TI-QUE). And then around 3:30pm, freshly baked from the oven: crumble, pumpkin pie, brownies, cookies and banana cakes are presented on the counter, which perfectly go along with a red fruits and rhubarb green tea or an artisanal apple juice.

The atmosphere is ultra cosy, coffees are good quality, pancakes are delicious, everyone speaks english, seasonable vegetables and fruits are written on a black board as a decoration and you can even find a flipper in the backroom. For me, it is all i need to be happy!

HolyBelly, 19 Rue Lucien Sampaix, 75010 Paris. Métro: Jacques Bonsergent (M10). Open from 9am (10am on saturday and sunday) to 6pm. Monday from 12pm. Closed on tuesday and wednesday. Breakfast: from 2€ to 13€. Lunch: from 9€ to 16.5€. Will be soon open on the evenings.
